Hi, this page is dedicated to Devotional Messages.

1Kings 17:5 So he went and did according to the word of the LORD. He went and lived by the brook Cherith that is east of the Jordan.
1Ki 17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

Elijah obeyed the instruction of God and even though he was in a very hard place, the desert with no supplies, God used a delivery system to feed him, the raven!

We may be in tough circumstances, but this so often highlights the provision of God, whether it’s a kind word of encouragement, a scripture, physical relief or a little gift. He sweetens the deal in ways that may be obvious but also very subtle.

I remember being gifted with a facial in the midst of a time of crisis and strange as it may sound, I had such a strong sense that God was saying: ‘I know you are going through an extremely hard time my child, but this little blessing is a reassurance that I am with you and giving you a little respite…’

Wherever we find ourselves today, we must remember that the will of God will never lead us where the grace of God cannot care for us.

God bless you!

Luke 24:5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

Jesus is the author of life. He created it in the natural and also spiritually. The final defeat of death came through His resurrection which is the pattern for all who believe.

So often we think of life in terms of the physical, but that is just the tip of the iceberg because true life is unseen. It begins in our hearts and has an outward working in and through our lives.

Perhaps we have dwelt too long on things that have past, the things that are dead and unprofitable. Jesus calls us to life and all that is life-giving. We cannot find life in those places or things. There comes a time when we must leave them be and look for the risen Saviour in our present circumstances, the One who brings life out of all that has been. Every thing that we have endured and experienced can be a catalyst to growing us in faith in Him. This is the life that transforms and does not diminish…

God bless you!

Gen 17:5 “No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.”

There are no vowels in Hebrew so YHWH is adding the same letter prevalent in YHWH’s name -the “hey.” The “hey” is breath. God in a sense is placing His very breath or spirit into them which also gives us a clue as to the nature of the descendants. They will not only be of the flesh, but those who are born of the spirit, which alludes to all those who believe in the one true God!

Abraham did not understand that, but God’s promise came into fullness long after he had departed! How often we only understand the obvious things before us and fail to see the invisible spiritual threads that He is weaving behind the appearance. His plans are far greater than our finite understanding and perception, so let us rest in Him and this knowledge as we continue on in praise, prayer and faith in Him and His living Word!

God bless you!

Isa 45:3 “I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who call you by your name.” (Emphasis mine)

Darkness, spiritually speaking, is associated with fear, evil, the unknown and in fact with the demonic realm, so it seems contradictory to ask for treasures from a place such as this!

Yet, I find myself praying for these and understanding that we serve a God of immense power, who brought light as His first act in creation.

He wants to bring people out of darkness into His light. He wants to expose the secret sins and darkness within us too and given over into His Hands, the ugly, dark, evil and fears become beautiful, light, God glorifying and victorious trophies which shout His love and mercy.

No matter where we are, we can ask for these uncut, dull gems to be mined and cut and polished to perfection by the Master Jeweller in our own lives, in others and in every circumstance we find ourselves.

God bless you!

“Who are You, and she answered”

Ruth 3:9 He said, “Who are you?” And she answered, “I am Ruth, your servant. Spread your wings over your servant, for you are a redeemer.”

In our case, Jesus knows us by name, knew everything about us before we were yet born and has each day of our lives numbered and in His view.

We read this in Psalm 91.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

Boaz was to take Ruth in, marry her and redeem all that concerned her. She would no longer have to trail after the gleaners picking up scraps but be the wife of the owner of the field, benefiting from His care, protection and love. This is the picture God gives us of His redeeming love for us, a love that gives us identity, security, protection and snatches us from our wilderness wandering.

He has laid down His life for us. Will we return and respond as Ruth did?

Gen 37:23 So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe, the robe of many colors that he wore.
Gen 37:24 And they took him and threw him into a pit. The pit was empty; there was no water in it.

Perhaps we miss the fact that it was not strangers who turned on Joseph. It was his own family, people he knew and trusted. How that must have perplexed and hurt him! We know how the account continues. He was constantly let down by people, even the fellow prisoner who forgot to mention him to Pharoah. Joseph could have become very disillusioned and bitter and yet, further along, he provided grain for his brothers and wept.

No matter who the enemy uses to hurt or destroy us, nothing and no one can stand in the way of God’s plans, purposes and restoration. Our lives in God’s Hands, our continued trust and faith in Him, will cause each and every situation to be used to lift us closer to Jesus and grow us, to ultimately prosper us and give us His intended future…

God bless you!

The Feasts of the Lord

Joshua 6:20 “So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city.”

Trumpets were used to call the Israelites to attention, to move camp and as a warning of something. We read about the seven trumpets sounding in Revelation, each of which signalled judgements that were to be poured out and the trumpet we all long to hear is the one mentioned in 1Co 15:51 and 52 which states that at the trumpet sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

Lastly, what does this mean for us now? We are all to be trumpets in the hands of Jesus, glorifying Him, exhorting and warning others and taking up the spiritual authority to break the walls that the enemy has surrounded others with. His life is in us and His Word is in our mouths! As we continue in praise and walking out this life in faith, walls will fall down and others will be affected for Christ. May we heed the trumpet call and be ready in and out of season! May we be conduits for the breath of God to play His music in and through us!

Exo 19:2  They set out from Rephidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and they encamped in the wilderness. There Israel encamped before the mountain,
Exo 19:3  while Moses went up to God.

And

Mar 6:46  And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray.

There is a beautiful pattern laid out for us here. Drawing aside is essential in order to hear. Removing the distractions and seeking God is a determining both inwardly and outwardly.

Are our thoughts crowding in when we try to pray? We can ask God to deal with this and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Cor 10:5) Have a time and a place where you can be in that quiet undisturbed place of solitude. We cannot hear His still small voice until we strip away whatever is clamouring at the door… He wants to speak with us, reveal His Word and change our stony hearts into hearts of flesh.

When we meet with Him on the mountain top we are equipped to walk through the valleys.

God bless you!

Act 17:28  for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’

God could have just been our Saviour and then distanced Himself until such time that we are redeemed by Him for our eternal home, but instead He is intricately involved and invested in our lives. He knows our every thought, our hidden fears and every breath is breathed because His life sustains us.

Sometimes we may think He is silent or far away from us, but that is not based on what His Word says! Feelings and thoughts can be deceptive and of the flesh, but when we ask Him to open our spiritual eyes and ears to hear and see Him, we will be amazed at the attentive Hand of God in our lives and circumstances.

The truth is that He says: ‘I will * never leave or forsake you!’*
And Joshua 1:9 says….Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God *is with you wherever you go.” *

We need to just be still and know that He is God.

God bless you!

Jud 1:24  Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,
Jud 1:25  to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

What a blessing to know that it is Jesus who keeps us. He is the Good Shepherd that watches over His sheep. Scripture reassures us of this:

Joh 10:28  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

He works in us to change us and get us Heaven ready. We can take no credit even for this! No matter the struggle, we can rest in Him, trusting in His saving and sanctifying goodness. He will perfect all that concerns us to His praise and glory!

God bless you!

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

God’s Word is living because it is spiritual seed, producing oaks of righteousness and enabling us to bear good fruit!

The fact that it is ‘two-edged’ is the character of the Word. It is spirit and truth. If we only have spirit, we can drift off into unsubstantiated ‘other’ territory, but if we are grounded in Scripture, we have balance and a living word. If we only have truth and fail to allow it to live in and through us, then we can become intellectual, religious Christians without the living testimony of His grace and life.

This Sword in our hands is mighty for breaking strongholds, setting the captives free, bringing repentance, hope, building faith and training us in godliness.

Is anyone in need? Ask Jesus to give you Scripture to pray over and for them. Our Lord answered the enemy of our souls with this and he had to flee! Let us feed on the Word so that we will be renewed, strengthened and changed.

Isa 55:10  “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
Isa 55:11  so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

God bless you!
